Soft Screens

Soft Screens offers a disorienting feedback loop between physcial domestic space and its digital double. Compromised of two video works, with a duration of 3 minutes* that loop continuously -- Soft Screens extends Parker's research into the Post-Internet Nostalgia Generation (P.N.G.) and asks audiences to reflect upon the ways in which online environments increasingly shape -- flatten, corrutp, and reformat -- our most intimate spaces. The first work, 'Cam engaged', is projected onto the main bedroom window and positions the audience as voyeurs inhabiting a device in use. the second encounter is entitled 'Ceiling.exe', projected onto the ceiling above the bed whihc is the stage for both films' narratives. Soft Screens prioritises a fully embodies encounter, inviting you to recline, look upward, and  feel yourself suspended between the two versions of the same space, one material and one networked.
